Nadim Gemayel Warns Illegal Arms, Statelet More Destructive Than Conventional Wars

On the fourth anniversary of the devastating Beirut port explosion, Kataeb MP Nadim Gemayel highlighted a poignant critique of the factors contributing to the Beirut's destruction and the loss of innocent lives, underscoring a deep concern for the continued vulnerability of Lebanon.

"It is not necessary for wars to take place so that a city would be destroyed and innocents be killed. Sometimes, the simple presence of illegal weapons and a statelet that undermines the State and stores ammonium nitrate in residential areas is more dangerous than all enemies and cause more destruction than all wars," Gemayel wrote on his X account.

"On this painful anniversary, we pray for the souls of the August 4 victims and for those injured and affected... with hope for justice to be achieved."
