MP Nadim Gemayel on Monday marked the fifth anniversary of the Beirut Port explosion with a forceful call to end judicial obstruction and issue the long-delayed indictment in the case, warning that the country's future hinges on restoring justice and state authority.
In a post on X, Gemayel denounced what he described as “five years of obstructed investigations, judicial deadlock, and threats against judges.”
“Today, with the state having partially freed itself from the grip of the parallel state, the time has come to issue the indictment,” Gemayel wrote, referring to Hezbollah’s influence over state institutions. He stressed that it is now the responsibility of Lebanon’s security agencies to act.
Gemayel warned that the time for compromise has passed.
“Half-measures are no longer enough… it’s either justice and a state, or the end of hope for building one,” he said.
