Kataeb Lawmaker Nadim Gemayel wrote on "X" platform: "The events of the past few days have once again undermined Hezbollah's narrative that it is the only force capable of defending Lebanon. Its weapons have proven ineffective in defending the South, the Bekaa, and Lebanon as a whole, and even its own party. It is time to acknowledge that there is no salvation for Lebanon except through the establishment of a strong, sovereign Lebanese State with legitimate constitutional institutions."

"We thank Hezbollah for everything it has done: the destruction of Lebanon, its economy, the hopes of the youth, and their trust in this country, not to mention all the human losses and victims," he added.

"The only solution is to rebuild our trust in a strong and sovereign Lebanon, based on the unity of the people and a common national interest. Lebanon can only rise through its youth, without militias and illegal weapons, and built on the foundation of UNSC Resolution 1559," Gemayel concluded.
