Mohammad Sinwar, the brother of slain Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, has been acting as the de facto head of the group's military wing in Gaza, according to a report by Israel’s Kan public broadcaster.

Hamas has not publicly confirmed Mohammad Sinwar’s leadership, nor has it officially acknowledged the reported death of its former military wing chief, Mohammad Deif. Israel claims Deif was killed in an airstrike in July, but Hamas has not issued a statement on his status.
