Ministry of Foreign Affairs Condemns Israeli Attack on UNIFIL

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates denounced, in a statement, “the targeting of UNTSO patrol, which led to the injury of 4 people, some of whom are in critical condition.”

The Ministry stressed that “this attack violates international law and international humanitarian law, especially in terms of targeting peace protectors who are United Nations employees, and comes after a series of targeting journalists, paramedics, children, women, and civilians.”

In this context, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Abdallah Bou Habib, contacted the UNIFIL Commander, Major General Arlando Lazaro, in which he expressed his denunciation and condemnation of the incident, calling on “countries keen on regional peace and security to ensure the safety and security of United Nations personnel, protect civilians, and intervene quickly to implement the Security Council resolution 1701."
