Ministry Announces New Appointments at Beirut Airport

Lebanon's Minister of Public Works and Transport Fayez Rasamny announced a series of administrative changes at Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut, aimed at enhancing operations and aligning with broader efforts to improve the civil aviation sector.

In a statement on Wednesday, Rasamny said the decisions were part of ongoing measures to ensure the optimal management and operation of the airport while awaiting the formation of the Civil Aviation Authority's Board of Directors. The move, he added, reflects "positive expectations for the airport’s management and operation."

Under the new assignments:

  • Amin Jaber has been appointed Acting Director General of Civil Aviation.
  • Kamal Nasereddine has been named Head of the Airport.
  • Mohammad Saad will oversee the Maintenance of Equipment Department.
  • Engineer Maher Shehab has been appointed as Head of the Guidance Department.

Meanwhile, Fadi El-Hassan, the former head of the Beirut airport, will continue in his role as a contracted engineer with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the statement noted.
