Israeli forces intensified their military campaign in Lebanon over the past 24 hours, carrying out extensive airstrikes across southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley while issuing a series of evacuation warnings for cities, towns and villages ahead of additional attacks targeting Hezbollah infrastructure.
The Israeli military said it struck more than 150 Hezbollah sites and operatives in the cities of Tyre and Nabatiyeh, as well as in the Bekaa Valley, publishing footage that it said showed the strikes hitting weapons infrastructure and militant positions.
The escalation came as the Israeli army expanded warnings to civilians in several areas of southern Lebanon, ordering residents to evacuate before planned air raids.
The Israeli military issued another evacuation warning for the southern city of Nabatiyeh, instructing residents to move north of the Zahrani River ahead of strikes targeting what it described as Hezbollah infrastructure.
Israeli army spokesman Col. Avichay Adraee said the military was acting in response to what he called Hezbollah’s violations of the ceasefire agreement.
“In light of the Hezbollah terror organization’s violations of the ceasefire agreement, the IDF is forced to act against it with force and does not intend to harm you,” Adraee said in the warning.
Similar evacuation notices were later issued for Tyre, surrounding neighborhoods and a nearby Palestinian refugee camp. Residents in areas marked by the Israeli military on published maps were also instructed to evacuate north of the Zahrani River.
The military also warned residents of five towns and villages in southern Lebanon — Kfarhouneh, Aaramta, Mlikh, Jarjouaa and Houmin al-Fawqa — to move at least one kilometer away from the targeted areas before the strikes.
The latest developments followed confirmation by the Israeli military a day earlier that it had expanded ground operations beyond the designated security zone in parts of southern Lebanon in recent days.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah said its fighters were clashing with Israeli troops north of the Litani River in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese media reports.
In response to the reports, the Israeli military said it was “unaware of anything unusual.”
On the Israeli side of the border, the military said several explosive drones launched by Hezbollah struck Israeli territory shortly after warning sirens sounded in the northern border community of Shlomi.
The Israeli military said there were no immediate reports of injuries and that the incidents were under investigation.
The Israeli Air Force also intercepted what the military described as a “suspicious aerial target” in an area where Israeli troops are operating in southern Lebanon.
