The press office of Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Thursday denied that the latter said that the Central Bank has lost control over the market and that a major political move is required to restore order.

"The Prime Minister fully and flatly denies these statements. He stresses that efforts continue to address the financial situation," said the press office.

"Any statement by the Prime Minister is either issued by him directly or by his press office," it added.
