Mawlawi: Legitimacy and Reform Are Key to Resolving Lebanon’s Crises

During a meeting with the Lebanese diaspora in Riyadh, hosted by Lebanese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr. Fawzi Kabbara, caretaker Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi highlighted that Lebanon’s ongoing crises can only be resolved through commitment to legitimacy, the Taif Accord, and the rule of law.

“A strong state, backed by its people, army, and legitimate institutions, is crucial for addressing external threats and maintaining stability,” Mawlawi stated.

He expressed optimism about electing a president with a clear vision and strategy while underscoring the vital role of Saudi Arabia and other allies in aiding Lebanon’s recovery.
