French ambassador to Lebanon Anne Grillot on Monday deemed the situation in Lebanon as tragic, calling on authorities and officials to assume their responsibilities without waiting any longer.

“France stands beside the Lebanese people who are committed with determination, courage and talent to build a new country that aspire to,” she wrote on Twitter.

Grillot greeted the Lebanese on their Independence Day, wishing the best for a sovereign and united Lebanon that will stand still against all the challenges it is facing today.
