Former President of the Kataeb party Amine Gemayel on Sunday casted his vote in the Beirut bar association elections, deeming these elections as an important step as it represents freedom and democracy.

“These elections establish the country that we are dreaming of, and I hope that the results embody the expectations and aspirations of the Lebanese,” Gemayel said.

“The Lebanese interest is what matters the most. Today, we are voting for a program that assures the Bar’s ongoing efforts for the lawyers’ interests and for the Lebanese cause ,”he added.

For his Part , Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel stressed the significant role of the Bar in defending the independence of the Lebanese judiciary and the rule of law.

“ The Bar has a major role but it does not mean that it can interfere in politics but it has a national role in defending the state institutions,” he pointed out.
