Former President Amine Gemayel on Sunday sent a letter to Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi, praising for his safety following an assassination attempt he was exposed to by a drone laden with explosives that hit his residence in Baghdad early this morning.

“The attack goes beyond your gentle person so as to target through you the process of security and political stability in Iraq, to protect the democratic process that the country has witnessed through the last general elections, and to achieve people’s desires to get rid of the regional and sectarian segregation and to consolidate national unity in the country,” the letter said.
