Kataeb Party Says No Turning Back, Blames Authority for Dragging Lebanon into the Logic of War

The Kataeb party on Tuesday stressed that there is no turning back, blaming the current ruling system for dragging Lebanon and the Lebanese into the logic of war and intimidation.

“The fire attack carried out at the Kataeb party office in Tripoli last week is a fallen attempt to keep the party away from its people in the North,” read a statement issued by the party's political bureau following its weekly meeting, deeming it as a cowardly act intended to draw violent reactions that the Lebanese reject.

The party thanked the Lebanese Army leadership for its swift action in arresting one of the perpetrators involved in the fire, calling on the security forces to bring all instigators and perpetrators to justice so as to halt the series of de-facto powers being violated for what has been remained from the State’ s prestige.

“The protest carried out by the Syrian Nationalist Party on Hamra Street yesterday, as absurd and dangerous as it is, was a coup case issued by a group that does not believe in the Lebanese entity and professions the assassination as a tool in political work and a cause for bragging,” the statement said.

The party warned against the danger of the prevailing chaos, calling for the revocation of the legal license from the criminal nationalist party and the referral of its staff to trial, namely in light of the constant easing of death threats against political leaders.

The Kataeb condemned the handling of His Excellency, the martyr President Bashir Gemayel by some pitiful people, putting this act in the public opinion’s custody, the security and the judicial forces.
