Kataeb: EPP Parliamentarians Discuss Lebanese Developments, European Support

The Kataeb Party leadership held a virtual meeting with Members of European Parliament from the European People’s Party’s parliamentary group to discuss the recent development in Lebanon as well as the role of the EU amid the different crises that Lebanon is witnessing.

The meeting was attended from the EPP side by the EPP Secretary General MEP Antonio Lopez-Isturiz, Vice-Chair of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, Responsible for the Mediterranean committee MEP Andrey Kovatchev, EPP MEPs from the Committee as well as representatives from the EPP Party. From the side of the Kataeb Party, the meeting was attended by the party chairman Samy Gemayel, Secretary General Serge Dagher, Head of the Foreign Affairs Department Dr. Michel Abou Abdallah and International Secretary Marwan Abdallah.

Kataeb Chairman explained for the European partners the current situation in Lebanon, the different challenges facing the Lebanese people, as well as the Kataeb’s position concerning the recent developments and its vision for potential solution.

The meeting is part of the continuous cooperation between the Kataeb and the EPP, which started in 2016 when the Kataeb Party was admitted as a partner to the EPP under it’s neighborhood program.
