Kataeb's Social and Economic Council Calls for forming an Independent Government of Specialists

The Kataeb's Economic and Social Council on Tuesday called for forming an independent government of specialists that would be able to take the needed reform decisions so as to save what’s left from the country, deeming it as the only solution for the country's salvation.

“The main reason behind Lebanon’s economy collapse is the absence of coordination between the Central Bank and the relevant ministries, especially since the issuance of circulars and random decisions had the greatest impact on the markets and on the exchange rate,” read a statement issued by the council.

“Continuing in that way in managing the country’s monetary and financial affairs will only lead to worsen the crisis and drag the country into a dangerous extent that impoverishes people and obstructs the economic cycle.

The council stressed that the delay in forming a new government represents another form of fatal neglect, saying that the Lebanese families who are struggling to cope with their difficult situation will not be able to withstand the effects of the devastating political quarrels.
