Justice Minister Resigns Amid Protests After Deadly Blast

Justice Minister Marie Claude Najem submitted her resignation on Monday as the country grapples with the aftermath of the devastating blast that killed more than 150 people and disfigured the capital Beirut.

In a letter she submitted to Prime Minister Hassan Diab, Najem said that the reasons behind her resignation are due to the Beirut explosion and the protests demanding justice for all people who died.
