The outgoing deputy force commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) was injured on Friday after a convoy transporting peacekeepers to Beirut airport came under attack by rioters who blocked the Beirut airport road, the mission said in a statement.

Justice Minister Marie Claude Najem submitted her resignation on Monday as the country grapples with the aftermath of the devastating blast that killed more than 150 people and disfigured the capital Beirut.
In a letter she submitted to Prime Minister Hassan Diab, Najem said that the reasons behind her resignation are due to the Beirut explosion and the protests demanding justice for all people who died.
