US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday stressed that Lebanon poses a great challenge in the Middle East, saying that it is not normal for an organization accused of terrorism to use power in the government.
“The more the government shows cooperation with the Lebanese’ demands the more serious we will take the financial challenges Lebanon is facing today,” Pompeo said in an interview with Annahar newspaper.
“We will not only provide assistance but we will exert our utmost efforts so that regional countries will do the same as well as all the European States we are in a continuous contact with,” he added.
