Hakim Warns of Country Downfall in Environmental Risks

Former Economy Minister Alain Hakim on Saturday outlined the health hazards of the environmental crises in Lebanon that are impacting all living organisms.

“More than 100 days of media outpourings and advertising campaigns while the country is drowning in an environmental disaster that is having a direct impact on humans, animals and plants alike in Lebanon,” Hakim wrote in a tweet.

“More than 100 days and no strategic plan, which incorporates a solution to the landfills problem, electricity hazards resulting from the high-voltage power lines, quarries, and maritime pollution, was laid down to the public opinion, and no state of environmental emergency was declared” he added.
