Lebanese President Joseph Aoun extended his congratulations to U.S. President Donald Trump on officially assuming his duties, expressing his belief that Trump's leadership will further strengthen the bilateral ties between Lebanon and the United States.

In a message to his American counterpart, President Aoun praised the U.S.'s unwavering support for Lebanon, especially during difficult times.

"You stood by Lebanon and provided vital assistance during challenging periods, and your friendly country played a pivotal role in helping Lebanon transition to a new era of security and stability," the letter said.

On Monday, Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, beginning his second term in office.
