Lebanese Army Chief Reiterates Zero Tolerance for Threats Against Civil Peace

Lebanese Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, conducted a visit to the Commandos Regiment stationed at the military training area in Qornet Al-Sawda, underscoring the crucial role of the regiment in ensuring security and stability.

General Aoun praised the Commandos for their vital presence in a region marked by challenging terrain and ongoing land disputes, emphasizing that their continued deployment is essential for preventing conflicts and avoiding casualties.

These disputes, which are under the purview of the judiciary, have heightened the importance of maintaining a strong security presence in the area.

"Your presence is a guarantee of stability in this region, where you carry out continuous missions in rough and harsh conditions," he said in his address to the troops. "Nothing is impossible with your determination because you believe in the sanctity of your mission."

"I can see in your eyes the firm will and high morale. I am proud of you and your comrades deployed across various regions of Lebanon, whether on the borders or within the country, and of what you achieve daily to protect our nation and its people."

General Aoun urged the troops to maintain their sole allegiance to Lebanon and loyalty to the army, reinforcing the importance of their Lebanese identity.

"Let your allegiance be solely to Lebanon and your loyalty to the army, and remain proud of your Lebanese identity," he stated.

General Aoun reaffirmed the importance of safeguarding civil peace, stressing that any threats to it are unacceptable. He acknowledged the difficult conditions faced by the troops but called for continued patience and sacrifice to preserve the institution and the nation.
