The Lebanese army has arrested several Syrian and Palestinian individuals suspected of involvement in the recent rocket launches from southern Lebanon toward Israel, a security source told Al-Hadath.
The source said the army has obtained leads that could identify the group responsible for the attack, though no further details were provided.
Two rockets were fired from Lebanon into northern Israel on Friday, prompting retaliatory Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon as well as in Beirut’s southern suburbs.
The security source emphasized that the Lebanese army will not tolerate any attempt to violate the ceasefire agreement, reaffirming its commitment to implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which calls for the cessation of hostilities along the border.
The source added that army patrols continue to operate discreetly, away from media coverage, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain stability in the country.
