President Joseph Aoun on Friday chaired a high-level security meeting attended by the Ministers of Defense and Interior, the Army Commander, and the heads of Lebanon’s security agencies.

The meeting highlighted ongoing coordination among the country’s security forces at all levels. Officials emphasized the importance of maintaining operational readiness, closely monitoring developments, and providing accurate information to ensure the smooth functioning of security operations.

Aoun stressed that the coming period will require additional efforts to strengthen safety and security across Lebanon.

The president confirmed that the Cabinet is moving forward with plans to raise military salaries, bringing them in line with other public sector employees. He instructed the Defense and Interior ministers to prepare the necessary studies to review military pay and allowances.

In addition, Aoun asked security agencies to compile detailed reports on their operational needs. The information will ensure that Lebanese representatives attending the Paris conference on March 5 are fully informed and able to meet the objectives of the meeting.
