The Lebanese Parliament convened on Tuesday to elect parliamentary secretaries, commissioners, and committee members, ultimately renewing its bureau with no changes to its previous lineup.

MP Alain Aoun was elected parliamentary secretary by acclamation following the withdrawal of MP Michel Doueihy. Similarly, MP Hadi Abu Al-Hassan of the Democratic Gathering was also elected by acclamation to the position of secretary.

With no other candidates stepping forward, the Parliament renewed the terms of its secretaries and three commissioners without any alterations to the previous members.

MP Ibrahim Kanaan was re-elected as chair of the Finance and Budget Committee, maintaining continuity in the leadership of one of the legislature’s key committees.
