Israeli Airstrikes, Shelling Continue Across Southern Lebanon

Israeli military operations intensified across southern Lebanon as the Israeli army reported casualties among its troops during clashes with Hezbollah, while fresh airstrikes, artillery shelling and ground operations continued across several border areas.

The Israeli military said four soldiers, including two officers, were wounded during an encounter with a Hezbollah operative in the southern Lebanese town of Beit Yahoun. According to the military, one combat officer sustained moderate injuries, while another officer and two additional soldiers were lightly wounded after the attacker threw a grenade at the troops.

The soldiers were evacuated for medical treatment and their families were notified, the military said, adding that the attacker was killed.

The incident came as Israeli forces continued military operations across southern Lebanon. Reports said an Israeli airstrike targeted the town of Nabatiyeh al-Fawqa, while another strike on a vehicle in the town of Meifdoun killed two people and wounded another, according to a revised toll issued by Lebanon's Health Ministry's Emergency Operations Center.

Israeli artillery later reportedly shelled the outskirts of Braachit and Beit Yahoun with around 10 artillery rounds while carrying out two airstrikes. The bombardment was accompanied by heavy machine-gun fire toward Beit Yahoun.

Israeli warplanes also flew over southern Lebanon, releasing several heat flares before leaving the area, Lebanon's National News Agency reported.

Israeli forces were also reported to have bulldozed land and set homes ablaze in the border town of Markaba.

Separately, one person was killed and another critically wounded after an unexploded ordnance left over from the war detonated in the town of Mansouri.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation said that 3,200 Hezbollah members have been killed since March, adding that 10 more Hezbollah operatives had been killed since yesterday.
