The Kataeb Party’s Political Bureau held its weekly meeting chaired by Vice President of the Kataeb Party Georges Jreij. After the meeting, the following statement was issued:
1-The Kataeb Party believed that the paralysis affecting most State’s institutions and the void creeping over the majority of positions in the state including the governorship of Lebanon’s Central Bank was the result of a plan led by Hezbollah to complete its coup and hold control over the country in a bid to achieve its goals and impose a president who is subject to its will.
It also warned against normalizing with the presidential vacuum, considering that the most dangerous thing is that parliament can no longer choose the president of the republic except under the supervision of those beyond the borders.
The Kataeb Party noted that this logic violates the constitution and the democratic principles, saying that it subjects the country to a minority that wants to adopt agendas from outside the system.
It also emphasized that the opposition called for a public dialogue by withdrawing its candidate and presenting a neutral one for the sake of a consensual dialogue, indicating the Iranian axis rejected this offer and resorted to obstruction and defamation.
The Kataeb Political Bureau called on the Iranian axis to present its own open offer if it is really seeking dialogue, otherwise it should stop obstructing the presidential election sessions.
2- The Kataeb Party considered that the Lebanese judiciary despite the pressures it faces, must find its way to achieve justice, calling on Finance Minister to comply immediately and release the forensic audit report in a bid to reveal the identity of anyone involved in the theft of the country's wealth and hold him accountable.
3-The Kataeb Political Bureau rejected the unprecedented measures taken by the Iraqi authorities, which stripped the Head of the Chaldean Church of his right to manage the church's endowments, deeming this act suspicious.
The Kataeb Party affirmed its full support for Cardinal Louis Raphael Sako in the confrontation he is facing against the Iranian axis which seeks to dominate the decision in the countries it controls and to suppress anyone who stands in the way of its clear plan to undermine free thought and conscience in the entire Arab world.
