Kataeb Party Participates in the Executive Committee Meeting of the Centrist Democrat International in Marrakech

The Lebanese Kataeb Party participated in the Executive Committee meeting of the Centrist Democrat International (IDC-CDI), which was held in Marrakech, Morocco, at the invitation of Istiqlal Party of Morocco, a member of the coalition.

During the meeting, talks focused on global affairs, particularly the ongoing events in the Middle East.

Head of the Kataeb Foreign Affais Department Marwan Abdallah highlighted Lebanon's situation amidst the ongoing war in the south and Hezbollah's monopoly over decisions of war and peace, which is dragging the country into a war unwanted by the Lebanese.

Abdallah also focused on the presidential vacuum in Lebanon as well as the threat the Syrian refugees are posing on the Lebanese economy.

A dialogue session was held addressing European-Middle Eastern relations, during which Abdallah discussed the historical relationship between Lebanon and European countries.

He emphasized the efforts undertaken by the European Union to bolster security and peace in Lebanon by advocating for the preservation of freedoms and the establishment of a clean governance system.

The discussion also touched on the Syrian refugee crisis, stressing the importance of Europe's potential role in alleviating the burden on Lebanon in this regard.
