Kataeb Party Denies Claims of Interference in Syrian Affairs

The Lebanese Kataeb Party on Wednesday rejected allegations that it is intervening in Syria’s internal affairs, dismissing claims aired by a Lebanese journalist as baseless and fabricated.

In a statement, the party’s Media Department said comments made by journalist Samer Zreik during an interview on the Spotshot platform, alleging that Kataeb had ties to the Syrian Democratic Forces and was involved in Syrian domestic matters, were “entirely false” and had no basis in fact.

The Media Department described the allegations as a product of the journalist’s imagination and said they formed part of a broader campaign aimed at distorting and misrepresenting the party’s position on relations between Lebanon and Syria.

Kataeb said it supports a clear framework for Lebanese-Syrian relations based on full sovereignty, equality between states, and mutual respect, rejecting any suggestion that it seeks to interfere in the internal affairs of its neighbor.
