Kataeb Party Condemns Threats Against MTV Lebanon, Urges Protection for Journalists

The Kataeb Party on Monday condemned what it described as attacks and threats targeting MTV Lebanon and its staff, warning that such actions constitute a serious violation of press freedom and an attempt to intimidate journalists.

In a statement, the party’s media department said the threats against the channel and its employees are “completely unacceptable” and represent an effort to prevent journalists from doing their work.

“Targeting media outlets and their staff directly undermines freedom of expression, which is a cornerstone of Lebanon’s democratic system,” the statement said.

The party added that such actions underscore the dangers of intimidation and attempts to silence independent voices.

The Kataeb media department expressed its full support for MTV’s management, journalists, and staff, urging Lebanese authorities to take all necessary measures to protect media workers.

It also called on officials to hold those responsible accountable, saying such steps are essential to prevent similar incidents in the future and to safeguard press freedom across the country.
