Israeli Strike on Houla Kills Hezbollah Operative, Injures Others

In the latest surge of hostilities, the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has intensified following a series of Israeli airstrikes and retaliatory actions from Hezbollah.

Lebanon's National News Agency’s reported that an Israeli drone dropped a bomb on two Syrian farmers in Al-Wazzani, with both having escaped unharmed. This incident comes just a day after Israeli officials requested that people leave the area, signaling heightened tensions.

Following this, Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike on the town of Houla, killing a Hezbollah operative and injuring two others, according to Al Arabiya news channel.

The Health Emergency Operations Center updated the casualty figures from the Houla strike, confirming one fatality and four injuries. Of the injured, three were hospitalized, while the fourth received emergency treatment.

Hezbollah mourned Muhammad Ibrahim Yassin, born in 1993, who was killed in the Houla strike.

In response to the Israeli actions, Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for targeting Israeli military positions around the Metula site with rocket-propelled weapons. The group announced a direct hit on the site and also reported attacks on Israeli artillery positions in Al-Zaoura. Additionally, Hezbollah shelled the Barqa Resha site with artillery.

The escalation also saw Israeli artillery shelling the outskirts of Ayta al-Shaab with three heavy shells on Monday morning.

The Israeli airstrikes also targeted Tayr Harfa, Odaysseh, and Kfarshouba.

Later, the Israeli army issued a statement saying that the strikes in southern Lebanon had targeted weapon depots and other buildings used by Hezbollah.

In northern Israel, sirens were triggered in the "Avivim" settlement, and Israeli media reported that an anti-tank missile had struck a building in Metula in the Upper Galilee.

Meanwhile, a barrage of three rockets was launched from Lebanon at the Matat area, setting off sirens in the community. The Israeli army said the projectiles struck open ground.

A separate barrage of 10 rockets was fired at the Upper Galilee, also all impacting open areas, according to the Israeli army. Sirens had sounded in Kiryat Shmona and nearby communities.
