Israeli Military Announces Killing of Hezbollah Chief in Strike on Beirut Headquarters

In a significant escalation of the conflict, the Israel army officially announced the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, marking a major blow to the militant organization.

The announcement was made by Avichay Adraee, the Israeli army's Arabic-speaking spokesperson, on his X account.

Alongside Nasrallah, Adraee confirmed that Ali Karaki, Hezbollah's southern front commander, and several other senior Hezbollah leaders were also killed in the operation.

According to the statement, the operation was carried out by Israeli Air Force jets, which targeted Hezbollah’s central underground headquarters located beneath a residential building in the Dahiyeh suburb of southern Beirut. The attack was made possible through precise intelligence from the Military Intelligence Directorate, allowing the Israeli army to strike while Hezbollah’s leadership was reportedly inside the headquarters coordinating terrorist operations against Israel.

“Hezbollah and its leader Hassan Nasrallah joined the war against the State of Israel on October 8th, and since then, the group has continued its attacks on Israeli citizens, dragging Lebanon and the region into further escalation,” Adraee’s statement emphasized.

Following the assassination announcement, Israeli army Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, reaffirmed that his country will reach anyone who threatens the country and its citizens.

“The is not the end of the tools in the toolbox. The message is simple, to anyone who threatens the citizens of the State of Israel, we will know how to get to them,” he said.  "This attack was prepared for a long time, executed at the right moment with great precision, and now we are moving forward with careful preparation for the next steps."

The Israeli army named the operation aimed at assassinating Nasrallah as "New Order".

Israel published a photo showing Hezbollah’s military chain of command which has now been completely dismantled after all its leaders were eliminated.
