Israeli warplanes struck targets in southern Lebanon on Monday, hitting the outskirts of several villages, including Zrariyeh, Kfar Milki, and Ansar, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported.
The Israeli military confirmed the strikes, saying they were aimed at Hezbollah military sites located north of the Litani River, in violation of long-standing U.N.-backed agreements intended to keep the area free of militant presence.
In a statement, the Israeli army said the targeted locations included “rocket launchers and weapons depots” operated by the militant group.
“The presence of weapons and Hezbollah’s activity constitutes a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the Israeli army said.
