Israeli Foreign Ministry: Lebanon’s Government Is a "Puppet" Lacking Independence

The Israeli Foreign Ministry has sharply criticized the Lebanese government, describing it as a "puppet government" that is incapable of making independent decisions.

This statement comes amidst ongoing tensions in the region, with Israel accusing Lebanon of failing to implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which calls for the disarmament of militias, including Hezbollah.

"Every Hezbollah site is a legitimate target, whether in the south or elsewhere. We cannot continue to accept its presence south of the Litani River," the Israeli foreign ministry spokesperson told Al-Hadath news channel.

When discussing Iran's influence and military activities, the spokesperson emphasized that Israel's response to the latest missile attack would be carefully calculated.

"Our response to Iran will not target civilian sites and will take security and diplomatic considerations into account," the spokesperson clarified, further asserting that the decision to respond to Iranian attacks has already been made.

"Our response will impose an extremely high price on Iran," the spokesperson added. "We will respond to Iran in a significant manner, and it will pay a heavy price."
