Israeli Drone Strikes Kill Two Hezbollah Members in South Lebanon

Israeli drone strikes in southern Lebanon on Thursday killed two people and wounded several others, in what the Israeli military later confirmed were targeted operations against Hezbollah operatives.

Around 10:15 a.m., an Israeli drone fired a guided missile at a white "Rapid"-type vehicle in the Toul–Kfour area in the Nabatiyeh district, killing one person and setting the car ablaze. The Israeli army later identified the target as Hassan Ahmad Sabra, a commander in the naval unit of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force. According to the Israeli military, Sabra’s activities posed a direct threat and constituted a breach of the existing understandings between Israel and Lebanon.

Less than an hour later, a separate Israeli drone strike targeted a truck in the border town of Naqoura, killing its driver, Ali Fawzi Atwi, who was allegedly transporting rubble from destroyed neighborhoods. The Israeli army described Atwi as a Hezbollah operative involved in efforts to restore the group’s military capabilities in the area. His actions, the military said, also represented “a blatant violation” of the rules of engagement between the two sides.

In a further development, an Israeli drone dropped a stun grenade near the Naqoura municipal building before crashing in the surrounding area. There were no immediate reports of injuries from that incident.
