Israeli Drone Strike Hits Vehicle in Naqoura Amid Ongoing Tit-for-Tat Attacks

An Israeli drone strike hit a vehicle on the main road in Naqoura, local media reported on Monday.

Ambulances rushed to the scene, with reports indicating two fatalities. The victims, identified as Hussein Mehdi Mehdi and Ali Youssef Mehdi, were believed to be employees of a cleaning company contracted by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

Some sources suggested that the targeted vehicle belonged to a service company working with UNIFIL.

The two victims were "an employee of this company and his cousin, both from Naqura", a town along Lebanon's border with Israel, a source told AFP.

"The cousin, who lives in an African country, arrived in Lebanon two days ago," the source added.

The National News Agency reported a separate incident involving a truck driver who narrowly escaped harm. His truck came under Israeli gunfire while traveling on the border road between Kfar Kila and Odaysseh, with bullets striking one of the doors and tires. Upon reaching Tayibeh, civil defense members from the Islamic Health Authority assisted the driver in changing the damaged tires.

Israeli aerial assaults intensified around midnight, with warplanes launching two missiles at Yaroun, near the city of Bint Jbeil and the town of Maroun al-Ras. Minutes later, another strike targeted the town of Hanin in the Bint Jbeil district. At approximately 12:30 AM, a house near the public square in Tyre Harfa was hit by two missiles, causing significant damage.

Later, the Israeli army announced that the struck buildings were used by Hezbollah operatives.

It also said that it had struck a Hezbollah launcher and military infrastructure in the area of Bint Jbeil, adding that Israeli warplanes attacked Hezbollah military facilities near Beit Lif, Tayibeh, and Odaysseh.

In response to these attacks, Hezbollah announced it had targeted two buildings used by Israeli soldiers in the settlements of Avivim and Manara.
