Israeli Army Uncovers Weapons Cache in Southern Lebanon Operations, Eliminates Key Hezbollah Operative

The Israeli army on Friday reported significant developments in its ongoing ground operations in southern Lebanon, highlighting the uncovering of numerous weapons left behind by Hezbollah operatives.

Avichay Adraee, the spokesperson for the Israeli army, stated that these findings were made during focused ground operations carried out by the 188th Armored Brigade.

According to Adraee, Israeli forces have conducted intensive combat operations in southern Lebanon in the past few days, specifically targeting terrorist compounds hidden within civilian villages.

Over the last 24 hours, the Israeli army reportedly made substantial discoveries, including ammunition, rocket launchers, anti-tank missiles, and various projectiles concealed inside residential buildings. In addition, the forces seized dozens of weapons abandoned in homes and other structures, such as rocket launchers aimed at Israel, anti-tank missiles, firearms, observation posts, and explosives that were hidden by Hezbollah operatives in the region.

In a related development, the Israeli army confirmed the elimination of Mohammed Rashid Skafi, a key figure within Hezbollah who served as the head of the group's communications system. This targeted operation took place in the Beirut area, where Skafi was killed in a precision strike.

Skafi was known as a veteran operative of Hezbollah, having held his position since 2000. He was closely connected to senior leaders within the organization and had significant experience and authority over its operations. His role involved ensuring continuous communication among Hezbollah's various units, both in routine circumstances and during emergencies, to facilitate the uninterrupted flow of information throughout the organization.

The communications system Skafi led was deemed crucial for Hezbollah's operational integrity, responsible for maintaining effective communication and developing the necessary infrastructure to support the group's activities.
