The Israeli army has escalated its military operations in southern Lebanon, announcing an "extensive" wave of airstrikes targeting Hezbollah positions. In parallel, the military has initiated a "focused and limited ground operation" aimed at dismantling the group's infrastructure near the Israel-Lebanon border.
The Israeli military announced on Monday that the 91st Galilee Division has been deployed to lead these ground operations. This division, responsible for the entire Lebanon border region, includes several key units such as the 3rd and 8th Reserve Brigades and the 228th Northern Nahal Brigade.
"Since the beginning of the war, the 91st Division has conducted a significant amount of offensive and defensive operations in order to degrade and strike the Hezbollah terrorist organization and its infrastructure in southern Lebanon, using ground and aerial strikes," the military statement read.
In recent days, the Israeli army also deployed additional divisions to southern Lebanon, including the 98th and 36th divisions, further bolstering its forces in the area.
