Israeli Army Expands Ground Operations to New Areas in Southern Lebanon

The Israeli army announced on Tuesday that its 98th Division has kicked off operations in new areas of southern Lebanon, intensifying efforts to dismantle Hezbollah's military infrastructure.

According to the army statement, the division, which includes the elite Paratroopers Brigade and the 7th Armored Brigade, is targeting Hezbollah positions identified as threats to Israel's northern communities, particularly Kiryat Shmona and the Galilee Panhandle.

Ahead of the ground operation, the Israeli army carried out extensive airstrikes in the region, aiming to neutralize sites used by Hezbollah to launch rocket attacks on northern Israel, it added.

The campaign in southern Lebanon is being conducted on multiple fronts. In addition to the 98th Division’s efforts, the IDF’s 91st and 146th Divisions are also active in different areas of the region, focusing on other Hezbollah strongholds.
