Israeli Army Claims Over 100 Hezbollah Members Killed in Southern Lebanon Conflict

The conflict in southern Lebanon has escalated dramatically, with the Israeli Army Radio announcing the deaths of over 100 Hezbollah members since the initiation of ground operations. Reports indicate that the fighting has occurred at close range, with significant military activity from both sides.

According to the Israeli daily "Yedioth Ahronoth," a drone team from the Eguz unit has been actively targeting vehicles belonging to Hezbollah's Radwan forces.

In a statement, Hezbollah declared that it had detonated four explosive devices against Israeli forces infiltrating the towns of Maroun al-Ras and Yaroun. The group described these actions as "retaliation for the Israeli barbaric violation of cities, villages, and civilians," emphasizing the significant losses inflicted on Israeli troops during these operations.

Hezbollah further reported that it targeted a gathering of Israeli forces in the Kafr Jaladi colony with a barrage of rockets.

Moreover, Israeli army confirmed the death of a Hezbollah field commander during a recent airstrike in southern Lebanon. This operation, conducted in coordination with the Israeli Air Force, targeted a building in the region where Golani Infantry Brigade soldiers were operating. The strike resulted in the death of the commander of Hezbollah’s regional unit in the area, along with other senior field officers. The Israeli army has not disclosed the specific location of this incident, citing operational security concerns.

Additionally, the Israeli military reported carrying out further airstrikes against Hezbollah operatives identified by Golani troops in the same vicinity. The military indicated that several weapons and pieces of equipment were also uncovered during these operations.

In a broader context of ongoing military actions, Israel has claimed the elimination of Khoder al Shaebia, a Hezbollah commander implicated in the deadly July attack on a football pitch in the Golan Heights that resulted in the deaths of 12 children and teenagers.

"Yesterday, acting on IDF intelligence, IAF fighter jets eliminated Khoder al Shaebia, the terrorist who was responsible for the attack in Majdal Shams," the Israeli army said in a statement.
