Hezbollah Claims Commander Survived Israeli Airstrike in Beirut

An Israeli airstrike on Beirut's southern suburb on Monday targeted senior Hezbollah commander Ali Karaki, the Israeli army announced.

According to intitial reports, three rockets struck a building in the southern suburbs of Beirut, wounding at least six people. 

As conflicting reports have emerged regarding Karaki's fate, Hezbollah issued a statement saying that the latter is okay and has been moved to a safe place.

Karaki, who heads Hezbollah’s southern command, is a key figure responsible for the group's military operations in southern Lebanon.

As a member of the Jihad Council, which serves as Hezbollah’s top military body, Karaki plays a crucial role in shaping the group's strategies and actions in the region. 

Recently, Karaki was reportedly appointed, along with Talal Hamiyeh, to lead Hezbollah’s operations division following the assassination of Ibrahim Aqil in Israel's latest strike on Beirut.
