Israel Deploys Fourth Division in Escalated Ground Offensive Against Hezbollah

The Israeli army has escalated its ground operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, deploying a fourth division to the region. This latest reinforcement, the 146th Reserve Division, kicked off its operations in the western sector of southern Lebanon overnight, according to a military announcement.

The 146th Division joins three other divisions — the 98th, 36th, and 91st — already conducting operations in the central and eastern sectors. This deployment brings the total number of Israeli troops in southern Lebanon to over 15,000, marking a significant increase in Israel’s military presence in the area.

The newly deployed division is spearheading its efforts with the Carmeli Reserve Infantry Brigade and the Iron Fist Reserve Armored Brigade, supported by the 213th Artillery Regiment.

The Israeli army’s ground operations are described as "limited, localized, and targeted raids," aimed at dismantling Hezbollah’s infrastructure in villages near the Israeli border. These operations are intended to neutralize Hezbollah’s presence and enable the safe return of residents to northern Israel, who have been displaced by the ongoing conflict.
