Iraqji: We Do Not See a Need for a Meeting with the Americans Currently and Our Conditions Are Clear

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Iraqji stated that his country «does not see a need for a meeting with the Americans currently» because «our conditions are clear, and the mediators continue their consultations regarding them».

The Iranian Foreign Minister added in television statements: «The attempt by the American side to open the door for dialogue and understanding more broadly is a positive step».

Iraqji continued, in statements reported by the «Tasnim» agency affiliated with the Iranian «Revolutionary Guard», that his country will decide whether the negotiations will be direct or indirect after Washington agrees to the Iranian conditions.

He stated that the Iranian conditions include lifting the sanctions imposed after the Islamabad memorandum, reducing American forces in the region, restoring oil exemptions, and releasing all frozen Iranian funds, including those in Qatar, in addition to demanding an end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon.

Regarding the nuclear file and the relationship with the International Agency, he emphasized that Iran is a member of the Non-Proliferation Treaty and continues to adhere to its commitments under it,

Iraqji said that Tehran discussed the message from JD Vance, the U.S. Vice President, in high-level meetings, but added that there are currently no plans for direct talks with the United States.

Last week, Vance, who headed the U.S. delegation in previous talks, sent a message to a senior Iranian official. The «New York Times» and «Wall Street Journal» reported that Vance offered to resume talks to end the war, but Trump denied this, stating that the proposal is limited to discussing allowing medical supplies to enter.
