Hezbollah’s Underground Complex "Imad 4" Believed to Be in Army Hands

The Lebanese Army has reportedly seized control of an underground facility in southern Lebanon, believed by some to be the Hezbollah site known as "Imad 4." The facility, located between the towns of Jouaya and Aytaite in the Tyre district, showcased in a Hezbollah video last August, had drawn significant attention for its scale and strategic significance.

Footage circulating on social media shows Lebanese Army troops inside the vast underground complex. While the army has not officially identified the site, many speculate it to be the "Imad 4" complex that Hezbollah showcased in a video in August 2024.

According to Al Jadeed TV, the army assumed control of the site more than a week ago.

The "Imad 4" facility gained prominence in August 2024 when Hezbollah released a video revealing its existence. The footage, subtitled in Hebrew and English, depicted expansive subterranean tunnels, large missile launchers, and military equipment. The video, titled "Our Mountains, Our Warehouses," was part of a broader messaging campaign during heightened tensions between Hezbollah and Israel, amid fears of a potential full-scale conflict.

The video showed Hezbollah members maneuvering motorcycles through the tunnels and trucks transporting missile launchers armed with precision missiles and heavy rockets. The facility, Hezbollah claimed, is designed to evade Israeli reconnaissance and withstand potential attacks, serving as a testament to the group's military preparedness.

Hezbollah sources stated that the site was named "Imad 4" in honor of Imad Mughniyeh, the group's senior military commander assassinated in 2008. According to these sources, Mughniyeh had personally overseen the development of the facility with a team selected by slain Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
