MP Elias Hankach marked the anniversary of April 13, emphasizing its significance as a reminder of Lebanon's history of persecution.
"This day brings us back to a period of oppression. We must learn from the past, and understand that truth is what ultimately prevails," Hankach said in an interview with Voice of Lebanon.
Hankach added that the purpose of the commemoration is to honor the sacrifices made throughout the country’s history and to reflect on the lessons learned from those struggles.
"We have deep faith in the cross and the cedar," he concluded, referencing two powerful symbols of Lebanon’s identity and resilience.
