Hankach: After Hardships, a New Lebanon Will Rise

MP Elias Hankach expressed optimism that Lebanon, despite its current crises, could undergo a rebirth, voicing hope that it will emerge as a nation rooted in strong institutions and the rule of law.

Speaking to Annahar, Hankach laid out his vision for a "new Lebanon," one that could stem the flow of emigration by providing a supportive environment for young Lebanese to build their future at home.

“A new Lebanon will be born after all the hardships this country has endured,” Hankach stated. “It will be a Lebanon of institutions and laws, a country capable of embracing back the young men and women who are currently emigrating. By creating the right environment and instilling confidence, we can show them that they can achieve their dreams here.”

Highlighting the talent and ambition of Lebanese youth, Hankach emphasized that they deserve to succeed within their own country, not just abroad.

“Just as our youth excel overseas, they deserve the chance to thrive at home. But for that to happen, we must provide them with the necessary conditions for success.”

Lebanon, Hankach argued, has always been a land of innovation, producing advances in technology, medicine, sports, and the arts. The country’s youth, he said, represent Lebanon’s most precious resource.

“We must give our young people the opportunity to realize their dreams,” he added. “They are our most valuable asset—our human potential, which stands alongside Lebanon’s rich history and natural beauty.”

Hankach also stressed the need to invest in Lebanon’s human capital, saying that the nation has both the talent and capacity to make significant contributions to the world once more.

“Lebanon must again become a source of innovation, projects, and added value, as it has been throughout history. It can regain its place if we create the right environment and establish a state that accommodates its citizens, enabling the country to harness their potential.”
