Kataeb Delegation Discusses Presidential Impasse, Opposition's Role with Armenian Patriarch

A Kataeb delegation on Wednesday met with the Armenian Catholic Patriarch of Cilicia, Patriarch Raphael Pedros XXI Minassian, with talks featuring high on the latest developments in the country.

Speaking after the meeting, Kataeb politburo member Alain Hakim said that his visit was aimed at discussing current affairs with the patriarch, notably the lingering presidential election deadlock, the roadmap proposed by the opposition lawmakers to end this impasse, and the Vatican’s role in this matter.

"We received a positive feedback from His Beatitude regarding the opposition forces’ openness to any initiatives or ideas that could positively impact the national and sovereign issue of electing a president as soon as possible."
