Grillo on the Second Anniversary of Beirut Port Explosion: France Is Committed to Lebanon's Support, Is Fulfilling Its Promises

French Ambassador to Lebanon Anne Grillo on the second anniversary of the Beirut Port explosion massacre said that the the investigation must be pursued appropriately, independently and impartially, without hindrances and with the full support of the Lebanese authorities.

"Two years have passed, but the pain is still in our hearts. Today I think of the victims who will not be forgotten, of their relatives, of the firefighters, paramedics, and all those who came to help on that day. We bow before their courage. The investigation must be resumed appropriately, independently and impartially, without hindrances and with the full support of the Lebanese authorities. The country cannot be rebuilt without justice. The Lebanese have the right to know the truth,” Grillo wrote on twitter.

"France is committed to Lebanon's support and is fulfilling its promises. As President Macron announced on August 4, 2021, France has provided more than 100 million euros for the benefit of the people of Lebanon in the fields of education, health and food support,” she noted.

"The Lebanese Red Cross is one of our partners," she concluded.
