Kataeb Party leader Samy Gemayel said his party has consistently stood on the “right side,” prioritizing Lebanon’s national interest over personal or partisan considerations.
“The party’s national work and steadfast positions form the cornerstone of its political journey,” Gemayel said, reaffirming the Kataeb’s loyalty to what he called “the Lebanese cause.”
He was speaking at a handover ceremony in the Metn region, where Walid Harrouk stepped down as regional head and Michel Hrawi took up the post.
Gemayel said that since its founding, the Kataeb has shouldered national responsibility, confronting both internal and external challenges while resisting foreign interference to safeguard Lebanon’s sovereignty and the dignity of its citizens.
He added that the party’s decisions were shaped by decades of political experience and anchored in clear, consistent principles designed to protect the Lebanese people and preserve the independence of national decision-making.
Reflecting on the party’s history, Gemayel said the Kataeb had always navigated political crises with wisdom and responsibility, refusing to let internal challenges or attempts to undermine it alter its national stance.
“The Kataeb is a national school that teaches its members to remain committed to political and ethical values while passing their experience to younger generations,” Gemayel said.
He concluded that with its history of martyrs and sacrifices, the Kataeb would continue to serve Lebanon and defend its sovereignty and national interests.
