Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel on Monday lambasted the remarks made by the Free Patriotic Movement Gebran Bassil during his latest appearance, wondering how can he be holding such a speech in a time where the Lebanese are suffering.

“Gebran Bassil, how can you appear in front of the Lebanese after everything you and your partners have committed against Lebanon, from handing over the decision to Hezbollah, isolating the country and destructing our economy and the basics of the Lebanese life?” Gemayel wrote on Twitter.

“You did everything to lure us to vote for your candidate who was running for the presidential elections and we refused without any doubt. Why? Because we are statesmen and we have principles and we refuse trafficking. As for you, you are only good at buying and selling at the expense of the Lebanese people,” he said.

“You can divert the battle and distract people with lies to cover your failures and obscure your evasions, but the fact is that our party cannot be tempted nor intimidated, and this reality will not change, and it is better for you to remain silent,” he added.
