Kataeb Leader Samy Gemayel on Friday, presiding over a meeting at the office of lawmaker Salim Sayegh and in the presence thereof, met with lawmaker Achraf Rifi in Kesserwan- Ftouh district in Sarba with talks featuring high on the current issues.
Discussions mainly touched on the upcoming political and constitutional imminent times and upcoming entitlements. The lawmakers agreed on the importance of cooperation between them and its amplification based on national principles and in the encompassing interest of the Lebanese people.
For his part, lawmaker Achraf Refi expressed that the meeting with the Kataeb Leader Samy Gemayel had been promising and endeavors were made in an attempt to create an opposing front to rescue the country.
“Deputies who did not vote on a logical basis during constitutional entitlements; like elections of the parliament speaker, deputy speaker, and parliamentary committees, as well as the nomination of prime minister-designate to form a government, were rare,” Rifi said in an interview with Voice of Lebanon.
“We will also see a change with respect to the upcoming presidential elections,” he added.
“Any candidate representing the “8 March” camp is considered as representative of Hezbollah and we will not accept any such candidates who are puppets in the hands of Iran,” he said when asked whether Suleiman Frangieh was a Hezbollah candidate.
Rifi concluded that Lebanon would not rise unless healed at the hands of sovereigns and those who were “March 14” camp advocates.
