Gemayel Attends London Commemoration, Calls for Building the Long-Aspired Nation

The London chapter of the Lebanese Kataeb Party hosted a memorial Mass at Our Lady of Lebanon Church in London to honor the memory of late President-elect Bachir Gemayel, MP and Minister Pierre Gemayel, and all of the party's fallen  martyrs. The event was a solemn occasion that brought together prominent figures and members of the Lebanese community in the United Kingdom.

The Mass, officiated by Father Joseph Ishak, was attended by Kataeb Party leader MP Samy Gemayel and his wife, Mrs. Carine Gemayel, along with Christian Chaoul, the head of the London chapter of the party. Other notable attendees included Lebanon’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Mr. Rami Mortada; First Secretary at the embassy, Mrs. Ola Khodr; and Mrs. Rima Baaklini, a member of the London Borough of Ealing. Representatives from the Lebanese Forces, the Future Movement, the National Liberal Party, the World Lebanese Cultural Union, and a large number of Lebanese expatriates and members of the Kataeb Party’s London executive committee were also present.

Following the Mass, participants gathered for a luncheon where the head of the Kataeb's London chapter, Christian Chaoul, welcomed the attendees and expressed his gratitude for their participation.

In his address, Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel shared his joy at being part of the event and reconnecting with party members and supporters in London. He briefed the audience on his ongoing international outreach tour and provided an update on the political and security challenges in Lebanon.

Gemayel emphasized the Kataeb’s unwavering commitment to its mission, stating that the party is closely monitoring developments and working diligently to help Lebanon navigate its current crisis toward a new era of stability and prosperity.

Reflecting on Lebanon’s hardships, Gemayel stressed the need for a strong, sovereign State with robust institutions.

“After all the pain we have endured, it is time for us to have the nation we dream of—a State of strong institutions and sovereignty that allows every expatriate to return and contribute to its revival,” he said.

He concluded with a heartfelt message, underscoring the party’s enduring dedication to its fallen heroes, vowing to “never forget our martyrs."

"We shall continue to walk in their footsteps," he pledged.
